About

Like many followers of Jesus Christ, I have struggled from time-to-time with truly understanding what it means to “abide” in Christ. After all, Jesus tells us in John 15:5…

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, an I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

Following Jesus is full of highs and lows… Sometimes, we experience such close fellowship with God that nothing seems impossible. Other days, we feel insecure, God seems distant, and life becomes a struggle with more setbacks than victories.

MyAbiding.Life is where I hope to share some relatively unfiltered content from my personal journals and other writings, sharing some of those highs and lows and the insights the Lord has brought me along the way.

The following quote is something I wrote back in December of 2013. I have kept it on a sticky note inside the front cover of my Bible to remind me of just how important my daily walk is… not the highly curated view we usually see on social media, but every step of every day:

“The destination may be the reward for faithfulness & obedience, but it’s the journey of getting there that God uses to develop in us the kind of faith and trust we must have to accomplish His purposes.”

May the Lord bless and keep you as you seek after Him… as you abide in Him… as you follow Him… one step at a time.
